I used to be so good at this blog thing. That was before I had a daughter and had a job where I had an office and spent lots of time in front of the computer. Now F*acebook and My*pace are my tools for keeping up and sharing pics. So, an easier way to keep up with the dizzles, is to peep me out at my*space at myspace.com/bridgetdizzle .
All is well for now Chez Dizzle. Lily goes back to the Dr. in July for a follow up ,that we just found out today, does not include at CT scan in order to reduce radiation. She is doing awesome and my love for her grows everyday. That’s about all. I don’t know how often I will update or even who reads, but peace.

Lily and Baba are sleeping right now. We’re still in the PICU. Not because Lily needs to be, but because the entire hospital is full, so there are no regular rooms. I’ve never been in an intensive care unit, but it’s emotionally intense (with babies crying a LOT and being life flighted in. A baby coded last night and it fucked with T and I )and not really comfortable. What can you do? The good news is that Lily’s surgery went well and we may get to go home today instead of tomorrow. We’re so thankful that she’s doing so well. Minimal swelling and she’s eating well. I’ll post a pic or two later because I’m quite sure I’ll have the time. Thanks for all of the well wishes!

I haven’t seen my baby since 7:30 and it’s 12:30 as I type this. I miss her so much. Also, I can’t log onto Rainbow Conceptions from the hospital server because it contains “Gay and Lesbian content”. Grr.
About an hour ago we got a call that they were just about done with surgery and that it went well. The Dr. is supposed to come up here and talk to us and then Lily will move to the PICU. I’ve been up since 3:30 and am starting to wear down. The waiting was easier at first, but now I’m anxious and wanting to be by myself. Sigh. More later.

And hurray for me who finally finally figured out how to post a freaking picture on here. Yes, I have been using wordpress for a while and am just now getting this.
Lily’s appointment yesterday was difficult..for us. She did well and was her usual charming self. She got pretty tired and fell asleep while we were talking to the anesthesiologist. I had to wake her up to get her blood drawn.
It was awful.
Three tubes of blood.
The sight of my own blood makes me ill, but the sight of Lily’s is much much worse. That girl recovers quickly and was smiling about 30 seconds afterwards. Now we wait until the day before surgery to get her blood drawn AGAIN and then go back the next morning for the big day. We’re just ready to get it over with now.

go round and round, the dog barks, the cat meows, the grandma says no no no, the baby says wa wa wa and a few other variations of the song were sang to Lily as she lay getting her CT. The best part about it….no sedation. The wheels on the bus is her fave song so T, myself and the person with the most interesting job (holding toys and distracting kids….seriously) sang it to Lily for about five minutes. She didn’t even cry. She is so freaking awesome.
We won’t know what the CT looked like probably until next week when we visit the plastic surgery clinic. One appointment down, three to go.

Tomorrow we go into KC to get Lily’s CT scan. It’s just a baseline. I finally got a call last week from the hospital with her upcoming appointments. So, she’ll have the CT tomorrow, which she will be sedated for. Lily can’t have any solids after two and nothing after 6, which I fear is going to suck. We’ll have to leave at about 7 so that we can pick up T on the way and go to the appointment. Then next week we will go back for a pre-surgery physical, anaesthesia screening (whatever that is) and some lab work. Surgery is still scheduled for Jan. 7th if she doesn’t catch some sort of virus around then. (She just got her first round of the flu shot last week so let’s hope that helps).
Other than that, some ole.

Not much new going on. We had a nice quiet Turkey Day with our friends. Probably our best one to date. We’re still waiting for info on Lily’s next medical appointment, i.e. CT scan, blood work up. We haven’t heard back from the hospital yet but are assuming that the surgery will be in Jan. as scheduled.
Lily now has four teeth, crawls like a maniac and is pulling herself up. I think I even saw her dancing the other day. Can’t believe she’s going to be 10 months old on Sunday!

Once again it’s been a while. Things have been busy with friends getting married, having showers/bachelorette parties and just enjoying the fall weather. However, we did find out a couple of weeks ago that Lily has craniosynostosis.
Her surgery is scheduled for January and she still has to get some tests done. It sucks. We’re devastated but we’re dealing. We knew it was coming, but were hopeful for a surprise. We’re very luck that we live so close (well like 30 minutes) to the hospital. Some people travel from across the state to this hospital so 30 minutes seems close. Plus, Lily has no developmental delays or seizures from her condition luckily. She is crawling, working on her second tooth and babbles her cute little head off. So, the Dizzles are managing with the help of some wonderful friends. More later and maybe just maybe some pics.

Well I say goodbye to my twenties tomorrow. Sigh. I was such an idiot for half of my 20’s, so hopefully I can start the next new decade of my life on a good note. I’m happily married, have a wonderful daughter and a great new job. I can’t complain.
As far as things so with the Dizzles, we’re doing okay right now. Knock on wood. Lily had a tough go of things last week with some diarrhea that lasted a week. She’s on expensive ass soy formula until her stomach settles and then we’ll go back to regular. It was a rough week for her moms. She’s 8 months old today! Still no teeth and no crawling, but we’re getting close on both of them I think. She has her appointment next week for her head. T and I are feeling better about it.
The new job is going well so far. It’s different working with kids, but it’s a great learning experience for me. Well, that’s all for now. More later. Peace friends.

I got a new job. I start on Wednesday. I’m sad about the job I’m leaving, but I’ll be doing some PRN work there from time to time so I won’t be all the way gone. New job pays more $$ and will be (hopefully) less stressful so that’s the main reason for the move. Lily’s Dr.’s appointment for her head will be in October. I’m feeling better about it after freaking out initially. Looking forward to a three day weekend!
